RollBack Pro Limitations

Customers

The deleted customers cannot be selectively rolled back from Recent Changes screen and even they cannot be rolled back from Full Backup screen. To restore customers, send a request to helpdesk@rollbackpro.com

Products

Product IDs in BigCommerce are incremental, so RollBack Pro cannot keep the original product id. Any product deleted and is rolled back, new product id is created.

Only products that have been backed up, when deleted can be rolled back from the recent changes screen (selective rollback). Other data entities cannot be selectively rolled back after deletion.

Categories

If the deleted category is rolled back, all the previously associated products have to be associated again, because the previous association is not retained as the category gets a new id. Moreover, the categories have to be associated with the channels also as the association is lost due to new id.

Currently, category rollback cannot be done from the Recent Changes screen.

After category is deleted and restored/rolled back from the full backup, it is created afresh with a new id and its associations with the products and channels will not get restored.

You have to manually associate with the products and channels again.

Brands

There are no APIs available to fetch the incremental changes to brands from BigCommerce, hence, they cannot be monitored for changes like creation, deletion and update. So any events on brands i.e., create, update & delete will not be displayed in the Recent Changes screen. They can only be restored from the full backup.

Creation, deletion & update of entities

When a data entity is created, updated or deleted, often BigCommerce sends multiple webhooks which can cause a duplication of the entries in the Recent Changes screen.

Images

Currently, there are no BigCommerce APIs to backup banner and home page carousel images.

BigCommerce has no API to move images from WEBDAV, this also means that RollBack Pro does not backup any data within WEBDAV.

Multi-storefront

Currently, the only data entity that keeps its association with the channels (multi-storefronts), after restoration from backup, is product.

All other data entities are assigned to the default channel after restoration, so they have to be assigned to other channels manually again.

Apps

Any data stored within an installed app itself will not be backed up .
